2017 Reach the Peaks Trail Running Challenge
Registration Deadline to receive T-Shirt and Farm to Feet Socks is Friday, Sept. 1 at 5pm.  

Reach the Peaks is the premier trail running peak challenge in North Carolina.  The event offers a strenuous 10 mile world class trail route that will test participants to summit the five major peaks of Hanging Rock State Park, including Peak 1 Moore's Knob, Peak 2 House Rock, Peak 3 Cook's Wall, Peak 4 Wolf Rock, and Peak 5 Hanging Rock.  THIS EVENT IS NOT A RACE.  A Timer will be located at the START/FINISH line, but all trail running participants are responsible to record their own time. All participants should report to the Event START/FINISH location at the Hanging Rock State Park Visitor's Center Parking Lot on Saturday, September 30, 2017.  

CHECK IN for the Trail Running Challenge portion is scheduled from 7am until 7:45am.  ALL Trail Running participants are required to begin promptly at 8am. Advance Registration is $30 per person and ends on Friday, September 22 at 5 pm. Day of Registration is $40 per person. The Trail Running Portion of the 2017 Reach the Peaks Challenge will be limited to the first 150 participants to sign up, whether Advance or Day of.  

Participants Registering before September 1 at 5pm will receive an event t-shirt and Farm to Feet Socks.  All participants will receive a post-hike meal/beverage and swag bag.  This year Bottled Water will be available on the route at the intersections of Hanging Rock / Wolf Rock Trails and Magnolia Springs / Moores Knob Loop Trails.  Participants who complete the challenge will receive a specially created embroidered patch, and join a select group of runners who have completed this single day  challenge.

NO DOGS will be allowed on the Trail Running portion of the Reach the Peaks Challenge.  

**WE STONGLY ENCOURAGE CARPOOLING, AS PARKING SPACE IS LIMITED**

THE EVENT WILL TAKE PLACE RAIN OR SHINE (Unless Directed by Stokes Emergency Services to cancel due to natural disaster)  

NO REFUNDS!  (Unless cancelled under direction of Stokes Emergency Services)
 
Triad Outdoor Painters will be capturing the day through paintings that will be exhibited the month of October in the Hanging Rock State Park Visitors Center, with a reception scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 15 from 2pm to 4pm.

Hanging Rock State Park is located at 1790 Hanging Rock Park Road, Danbury, NC and is the 2012 North Carolina State Park of the Year with over 7,000 acres of hiking trails, waterfalls, lake/beach/bathhouse, campground/cabins, visitors center, and Dan River access.
