Edwin Huizinga performs solo Baroque violin for BMC Night Beat
Edwin Huizinga is quickly establishing a reputation as one of North Americas most versatile violinists. Performing both baroque and modern repertoire, he enjoys playing with musicians from all kinds of genres worldwide.
Mr. Huizinga will play J. S. Bach's Partita No. 2 (including the amazing Chaconne), Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber's Passacaglia, Partita No. 1 by Valsmayr, Fantasia No. 4 by Telemann, and a transcription of Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D minor for solo violin.
As a baroque violinist, he has toured throughout North America, Europe, and Asia with the world-renowned baroque orchestra Tafelmusik, Opera Atelier, the Wallfisch Band, Aradia Ensemble, and Theater of Early Music.
Edwin has a Bachelor of Music degree from Oberlin Conservatory and a Master of Music from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
