Harold Rosenbaum Midsummer Review Choral Conducting Workshop
The fourth 2017 Harold Rosenbaum Choral Conducting Workshop will be held at Nola Studios, 244 W. 54th St., 11th floor, studio D in New York City, on Thursday, July 13 from 1 to 4 PM.
Dr. Rosenbaum will bring multiple copies of pieces, and will discuss the conducting challenges in each. Then, the participants will do the actual conducting gestures of those spots. Participants are welcome to bring their own scores with questions they have.

Harold Rosenbaum is the only living choral conductor to have received the prestigious Ditson Award, bestowed annually since 1945 by Columbia University. Robert Shaw and Gregg Smith were the other choral conductors to receive it. He is the founder and conductor of the New York Virtuoso Singers and the Canticum Novum Singers. He is also founder of Virtuoso Choral Recordings. He is the 2010 winner of ASCAPs Victor Herbert Founders Award and the winner of the 2008 American Composer Alliances Laurel Leaf Award, given in recognition of distinguished achievement in fostering and encouraging American music. A strong proponent of and advocate for contemporary composers and American composers in particular, Rosenbaum has commissioned more than 80 works, and has conducted more than 500 World Premieres.
