Workshop description:
Led by artist Leilani Lewis, this workshop will cover essential skills you'll need to find and develop audiences for your work, including elevator speeches, networking, and effective communications strategies for interacting with other artists, curators, and other art-world gatekeepers.

Instructor bio: Leilani Lewis is an arts educator and communications professional who is passionate about community building, organizational leadership, art, and culture. While working at the Northwest African American Museum, she led high impact programs that significantly impacted community engagement and outreach at the Museum. She now works for the University of Washington where she focuses on developing and advancing communications strategy for the UW President's Race & Equity Initiative. Ms. Lewis is a board member for Shunpike and has spoken on a number of panels and presented at regional and national conferences. She holds degrees in Art History (BA) and Nonprofit Leadership (MA) from Seattle University.
