Inspired by The Golden Girls, the beloved Emmy and Golden Globe winning sitcom of the '80s and '90s, The Golden Years: Thank You For Being a Friend In Drag follows your favorite over-the-hill funny women from Florida. In this hilarious parody tribute, four women over the age of 60 -- the promiscuous Blanche, the ball-busting Dorothy, the ditzy Rose and the bitingly sarcastic Sophia (all played here by beautifully bewigged men) -- still live in their Miami home, where they navigate social faux pas and romantic entanglements with their characteristic grace and humor. Don't miss this hysterical production at the Avenue Theater in Denver presented by Theatre Out Denver and The Denver Element. Funds from the ticket sales all go back to the programming of The Denver Element, who run community programs in sexual health, mental health, substance use and community building social events like this annual play.
