SUGARWARD
By Sean Graney
Directed by Geoff Button
The somewhat true, and yet entirely implausible, tenure of Colonel Daniel Parke, 1706-1710 governor of the British Leeward Islands, as he learns about the nature of "seasoning camps," the power of corruption, the corruption of power, and the true price of sugar.
Featuring Joel Ewing (Livewire Chicago) and John Henry Roberts (Strawdog).
the side project is pleased to present its third Sean Graney world premiere, a relationship that started with 2003's "The Fourth Graders Present a Love-Suicide," directed by Jimmy McDermott, and continued with 2006's "Porno," directed by Graney.
This politically charged play is perfectly suited for the cold of winter, and the inauguration season. (Runs in rep with "lady M." another political play, rife with ambition.)
