Rain Gardens for Landscape Professionals Workshop
Join the Watershed Stewards and rain garden experts for a daylong workshop on designing and engineering rain gardens in Clark County. Landscape designer Dennis O'Connor of Habitat Concepts will start the morning off by discussing the basics of rain gardens, including a site assessment model. Site Development Specialist Maria Cahill of Green Girl Land Development Resources will speak about more complicated sites, while Ron Wierenga from Clark County Department of Environmental Services will speak about rain gardens in Clark County and bioretention methods beyond rain gardens. It is $15 to attend.
The session will be organized by the Watershed Stewards Program, which is co-sponsored by Washington State University Clark County Extension and Clark County Environmental Services Clean Water Program. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and receive manuals. The class will be available for 5.5 CLT credits and 6 CPH credits. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
