The talk will cover the fascinating history of wooden boat building in areas of London like Rotherhithe and Deptford, the extraordinary feats of iron shipbuilding associated with yards at the Isle of Dogs and Blackwall, particularly the Thames Ironworks at Bow Creek opposite Trinity Buoy Wharf.
