Totally Thames: Gabriel's Wharf Foreshore Archaeological Walk
Join this archaeological walk with Dr Fiona Haughey exploring an area that has undergone a huge modern face lift.
The foreshore is constantly being changed both by humans and the river itself. Come and explore this urban landscape where the causeway hints at changing sea-levels and artefacts under your feet help describe lives lived long ago.
Gabriel's Wharf has undergone a huge modern face lift in the past few decades but evidence of its long and varied past history can be found on the foreshore. With structures in both stone and wood as well as many smaller artefacts to be found beneath your feet, this site has a lot to offer. Take a morning stroll with Dr Fiona Haughey to discover that there is more here than sand sculptures.
There is so much to discover and learn along London's foreshores, so why not join one of our many foreshore walks with leading experts on hand across London!
