Mystic Vibes

Mystic Vibes, a five-piece original roots reggae band from Portland Maine, has been performing since the summer of 1998 when they made their debut opening up for King Yellowman at the Stone Coast Brewing Company in Portland.

Founding member Dequhn Lobutua expresses his original lyrics with a passion gained through a life based in the spirituality of Rastafari.

Mystic Vibes has since performed to energetic crowds from Rhode Island to Northern Maine and everywhere in between. The band has had the privilege of sharing the bill with such great acts as Jimmy Cliff, Toots and the Maytals, The Wailers, Third World, Morgan Heritage, and John Browns Body just to name a few. They have headlined the past six Sugarloafs Reggaefest, played at the Maine Festival on two occasions and performed on Portlands WMPG several times as well as CYY/WBLMs Bud Light Booze Cruise and Harrys Farm festivals. They have also had the honor of winning The Portland Phoenix Best Music Poll two years running.
