Cornfields and Crossroads
Cornfields And Crossroads is a high energy band based out of Indianapolis that has a long history in entertaining audiences all around the Midwest. We strive to lighten the hearts of music lovers through traditional, contemporary and gospel bluegrass music and even a few originals everywhere we go. The band is made up of seasoned musicians who have long histories in bluegrass music. Darrell, Dan, Joe, & Mark are playing some of the most exciting hard driving and sometimes the softer side of bluegrass in the Midwest.thier distinctive style and enjoyable stage show bring audiences to their feet everywhere they go. and talented Darrell Duety steps up to the mike to sing a few songs, Darrell is the very tall talented nimble fingered mandolin player for the band, he sings baritone and with a little coaxing will step up and sing a few songs himself. Then there is Our Bass player Joe Flowers, he is the most active bass player you will ever watch, as he dances, sings and entertains all night long. Joe is always saying, "Man it's hot in here" But it's because he never stops moving. Joe also sings some lead and is the tenor singer of the band. Then there is Dan Wethington, banjo extraordinaire, he loves the Scruggs style banjo as is evident in his high energy instrumentals where his hands float over the neck as if they never touch the strings. Cornfields And Crossroads have recorded 3 CD's in the 8 years they have been together. Opened and shared the stage with many of the greats such as, Ronda Vincent, Dan Paisley, Don Rigsby, Ralph Stanley, Grascals and many more. Also Ron Stuart sit in on their last CD, Hard Times in Kentucky. We have played the world famous Bill Monroe Bluegrass Festival, in Beanblossom IN. And also celebrated Bill Monroe's 100th birthday Celebration with 2 shows at Bill's home place, Jerusalem Ridge KY. We have even played a ballet at the Ford Honeywell Theater, believe it or not! We still laugh and say we are sure we were the first hillbillies to ever step foot in an orchestra pit. So if you are in the mood for some toe tappin' hard driving bluegrass come on out and see us at a venue near you. You are sure to leave with a smile on your face and a song in your heart, and knowing you just made some new friends. After the show come on up and say howdy, and let us shake your hand, let us get to know you. After all, that is what keeps us doing what we do, and enjoying every minute of it.
