The bulk of the workshop consists of hands-on sessions that include instructor demonstrations and individually supervised hands-on practice on a cordwood sauna at Indian Pipe Botanical Sanctuary in Linden, VA.
This is the second workshop on this cordwood structure - the frame is built and 1.5 walls are complete. Discussions will include detailed cordwood information, kinds of wood that are used & how to build the proper frame for your building.
Wayne Weiseman, of the Permaculture Project LLC, has been working with cordwood since the 1980s. Come gain hands-on experience with one of the experts!
Daily breakfast & lunch included with registration. Dinner is up to you - we have an outdoor kitchen and grills available. Downtown Front Royal and Marshall, VA offer restaurants and grocery stores.
Free camping available on the sanctuary. The Ashby Inn offers nice rooms about 15 minutes away, there are other hotels and motels within a 30 minute radius as well.
