Cons, Cheats & Scams is a two-man show that features world-class card magician Jason Ladanye and Sean The Prankster Magician. It is a magic show with a twist using the finest sleight of hand magic they will demonstrate how con artists beat the system! It features card magic and comedy magic and has a very unique segue from the first half of the show to the second half. One of the top card magicians in the world today, Mr. Ladanye will be demonstrating how easy it is to win in Vegas if you have the skills. Hell also show what can be done with a deck of cards after a lifetime of studying sleight of hand. Sean will focus on street scams and hustlers. The show takes place at the South Shore Theatre Experience in Lindenhurst, NY at 7PM.
Jason has performed parlor shows at the prestigious Magic Castle in Hollywood, California. To be invited to perform there is an honor bestowed on only the best magicians in the world. The Magic Castle, home to the Academy of Magical Arts, whose mission is the promotion and advancement of the magical arts, is an international destination and the premier performance center and clubhouse for magicians. To perform at this exclusive club has been the childhood dream of Jasons, following in the footsteps of the masters before him, including Dai Vernon, Harry Blackstone and David Copperfield. Recent notable performers include David Blaine and Chris Angel.
Mr. Ladanye has appeared on ABCs 20/20 and Inside Edition exposing card-cheating scams. In 2013, he authored his first book, Confident Deceptions, which is already a classic text for sleight-of-hand card magicians. His second book, Game Changer, will be released this year, followed by an international lecture tour. In 2004 and 2010, Jason Ladanye represented the United States at the prestigious International Magic Convention held in London, England. Jason has performed card magic at Resort Casinos such as Turning Stone, Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun, and at corporate events for Fortune 500 companies including Fuji Films, Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company, and General Motors. He has been performing card magic since the age of seven, when he was first inspired by the artistry of David Copperfield.
Sean The Prankster Magician was a former New York City white collar prosecutor who helped to take down cons, cheats and scams! Now he will demonstrate the inner workings of the oldest street scam in America, still prevalent in New York City, Chicago, and Las Vegas. He will explain the psychology behind the scam and expose what to look for, as well as how to respond when confronted by a street scammer. To learn from the best how the scam artists work, Sean The Prankster Magician has traveled to cities including London, Paris, Berlin, Munich, New York and Las Vegas. When not performing with Jason, Sean The Prankster Magician performs comedy magic throughout the northeast at school assemblies, festivals, resorts and private events. He has most recently been the opening act in Saratoga Springs for Americas Got Talent Rubiks Cube sensation, Magician Steven Brundage, who was a semi-finalist on the television reality show in 2016.
The Parlor of Mysterys home is the South Shore Theatre Experience in Lindenhurst. Its the perfect place to experience parlor and close-up magic. It is small black box theatre with comfortable tiered seating for 45. The Parlor of Mystery is one of many productions that take place at the South Shore Theatre Experience, which is located at 315 West Montauk Highway in Lindenhurst. The South Shore Theatre Experience is a non- profit organization that produces original works and theatre classics as well as conducting acting classes & workshops.
Parlor of Mystery shows usually take place on the fourth Sunday of every month with different magicians performing different effects.
Tickets are $15 and available on-line and at the door, however space is limited.
