The Uprooting by Betty Chaney
This sequel to last summers hit THE ROOTING PLACE, picks up 20 years later when Oba is in college. The complexion of Oba's skin had made him an outsider and an enemy to his black Mississippi cousins during his boyhood. Now at 20 years old, he returns to Mississippi to claim his great, great grandmother's inheritance, but he finds that not only is his inheritance at risk, but also that he is forced to find a way to gain his cousins respect and his manhood.
