TWO PERFORMANCES-FRIDAY, AUGUST 11TH: 8:00P.M. AND 11:00P.M.
One of Dallas' premiere burlesque houses, Viva's Lounge in the Design District, is the setting for a one night only, immersive experience into the world of infamous comedian, Lenny Bruce. Complete with a burlesque pre-show, full bar and cocktail lounge atmosphere, audiences will get a taste of what it was like to see this icon of counterculture comedy perform, as acclaimed Dallas stage and film actor, Joey Folsom, stars in a production of Sam Bobrick and Julie Stein's LENNY BRUCE IS BACK. Both performances include a burlesque pre-show designed by and featuring the wildly popular burlesque performer, Vivienne Vermuth.

LENNY BRUCE IS BACK is a one man piece of scripted theatre, primarily comedic in design, that through the format and feel of stand up comedy takes a look at one of the art form's most controversial figures. Through the premise of Bruce coming back from the dead to deliver the set he never had the opportunity to deliver in life, this biographical as well as culturally insightful show profiles stand up comedy's most infamous figure who challenged the perceptions of the purpose of comedy and is thought of by many as the satirical equivalent of a martyr, vilified in life and sainted in death for the path he paved for comedians and individuals alike regarding the freedom of speech.
