Pacific Chamber Symphony: Classical Gems
The Pacific Chamber Symphony, Lawrence Kohl, conductor features "Classical Gems" of Mozart, Haydn and Beethoven. Haydn's bravura "Concerto for Four" the Sinfonia Concertante for Oboe, Bassoon, Violin and Cello features PCS principals as soloists Robin May, Oboe; Karla Ekholm, Bassoon; Igor Veligan, violin, and Nina Flyer, Cello. Beethoven morphs the classical symphonic form into what Richard Wagener called, "Symphony #7 is the Apotheosis of the Dance itself: it is Dance in its highest aspect, the loftiest deed of bodily motion, incorporated into an ideal mold of tone." The Symphony was premiered 200 years ago. The program begins with Mozart's effervescent Overture to Cosi fan Tutti.
The Pacific Chamber Symphony blends chamber music's intimate clarity with the power and tonal richness of a professional symphony orchestra. Under the guidance of its dynamic maestro Lawrence Kohl, this group of brilliant professionals never fails to provide a warm and inspiring experience. Come and hear the Pacific Chamber Symphony's insightful interpretations of some of the most beautiful music ever written.
