A Midsummer Night's Bugalú w/ Lookie Lookie
Lookie Lookie is only having ONLY ONE Accurate Records loft party this summer: Saturday, July 22.
Those who have been to our little fiestas know you just can't find a more convivial, friendly, fun, lovely bunch of coconuts than the folks who attend. Those who haven't been to one yet what the heck are you waiting for?
Friend of the band Tom Doran gave these seven reasons why you should come:
1) people [of all ages] doing lively and hip things
2) great dance music
3) interesting horn arrangements (there some "serious listening" in between the fun stuff)
4) music with a sense of humor refreshing
5) great musicians
6) great space
7) gracious host
Here's the deal: it's a PARTY!!! We supply food (snacks, light meal) and beverages, you bring a $20 bill and put it in the collection box. We also invite you to bring more of what you like to drink, or even something to eat.
We are simplifying the pricing into three tiers this time. The minimum is $20 - a great deal! If you have the means to pay for the higher priced tickets, you will be doing that much more to keep this scene happening.
And, we do very much appreciate when you pay in advance through Brown Paper Tickets instead of waiting to see if we can squeeze you in on the night of the show.

Lookie Lookie plays Latin Bugalú, a super fun 60s sound that combines Afro-Caribbean rhythms with rock and soul sensibility. The lyrics are in Spanish and English, the band features four percussionists, three horns and bass - and five singers.
The band is an all-star assemblage of sensation-seeking sybarites:
Chris Maclachlan (Human Sexual Response) - bass
Vicente Lebron (Either/Orchestra, Club D'Elf) - congas
Jorge Arce (Raiz de Plena, Humano) - bongo, cowbell
Rick Barry (Bim Skala Bim) - timbales, more cowbell
Ken Winokur - guiro, claves
Scott Getchell (Lars Vegas, Agachiko) - trumpet
Ted DeColo (Funky White Honkies) - alto sax, flute
Russ Gershon (Either/Orchestra, Orchestra Morphine) - tenor sax, flute
And lots of singing...even a dance lesson by Jorge!
