Movie Night and Exhibit Tour at the Orange County Museum of Art
Movie: Frei Otto: Spanning the Future is about the life and works of Frei Otto, told in his own words and by those he inspired. Frei Ottos understanding of architectures fundamental relationship to natural forces is the foundation of todays architecture. As technology advances, his methods are now becoming more widely adopted, as are his broader philosophical concepts about solving the worlds most pressing issues. Featuring Zaha Hadid and Frei Otto in one of the last interviews given before his passing. This film takes architecture fans on a journey through a history of architecture that inspires the world of tomorrow.

This thought-provoking exhibition explores the topic of architecture and the temporal precariousness of the built environment. Among the issues to be addressed are the recording of history and preservation; the concept of home and displacement; and the influence of global power, economics, and political systems on global construction.
