Yacolt Mountain Farm Tour
Tour a local small acreage farm in Yacolt, and get stewardship ideas for your property by seeing practices in action. Yacolt Mountain Farm, an organic, horse-powered farm, was recognized by WSU Clark County Extension as a model property for stewardship in 2015. The farm grows certified organic vegetables and nursery plants, and provides free-range eggs, workshops, and consultations - http://www.yacoltmountainfarmandnursery.com/
Participants will have the opportunity to see rotational grazing, discuss farming with horses, learn about practices to manage runoff and reduce mud, ask animal husbandry questions and tour the farm. Come learn about how the landowners achieved recognition as a model property and how best management practices have been implemented to improve their property and protect natural resources, while saving time and money.
Bring your family & friends and questions you have about your property. Please dress appropriately for the weather, bring a water bottle and wear sturdy boots as we'll be in the field.
The Small Acreage Program, co-sponsored by Washington State University Clark County Extension and Clark County Clean Water Program, will lead the tour with the landowners.
