Disney's High School Musical - On Stage
Vagabond Acting Troupe's Jr. Professionals bring the pop musical hit, High School Musical, to their stage at the Corner Arts Center, 1080 North Manor Road, Honey Brook, for just six performances February 1 to 10, 2013!
It's the first day after winter break at East High. The Jocks, Brainiacs, Thespians and Skater Dudes find their cliques, recount their vacations, and look forward to the new year. Basketball team captain and resident jock Troy (played by Jack Trego of Morgantown) discovers that the brainy Gabriella (Sabrina Paulino of Coatesville), a girl he met singing karaoke on his ski trip, has just enrolled at East High. They cause an upheaval when they decide to audition for the high school musical. Although many students, in particular the High School divas Sharpay (played by Casey Cloonan of Honey Brook) and her brother Ryan (Andrew Patterson of Downingtown) resent the threat posed to the "status quo," Troy and Gabriella's alliance might just open the door for others to shine as well.
The show also features almost 40 area teens from Downingtown East HS, Twin Valley High School and Coatesville High School singing such popular teen hits like We're All in this Together, Bop to the Top and I Can't Take My Eyes Off of You. A teen classic, Disney's High School Musical On Stage offers foot stomping fun for the hole family.
The show is directed by Vagabond Acting Troupe Executive Artistic Director Aileen McCulloch and resident musical director Jeff Beideman.
High School Musical runs for just six performances, February 1 at 8 p.m., February 2 and 3 at 2 p.m.; February 8 at 8 p.m., February 9 at 7 p.m. and closing Sunday, February 9 at 2 p.m. Performances take place on the Vagabond Acting Troupe stage of the Corner Arts Center, at the corner of Route 82 and Fairview Road in Honey Brook (on the border of Glenmoore). Discounted $10 (with processing fee) for all ages are available in advance at brownpapertickets.com, while tickets at the door are $15/$12.
