Suzanne Sings: Chansons de la vie et de l'amour
Suzanne Nance is a singer, actor, and broadcaster perhaps best known in Maine as the host of MPBN Radio's "Morning Classical Music" program from 9 a.m. to noon each weekday. But you've oly ever heard her on radio and have never heard her sing, you're in for a real treat.
Recognized for her "crystalline soprano voice and sparkle on the stage," she is admired for her versatility, from the concert stage to the operatic arena. Suzanne has performed with opera companies, orchestras and musicians in the US and in Europe, most recently in Prague, London, Philadelphia, Chicago, and across Maine. We are very much looking forward to her return to the Franco Center's Performance Hall stage, and she is putting together a one-of-a-kind program of French music (in recognition of Franco heritage) and German music (in recognition of her own heritage) especially for our audience.
For this concert, Suzanne will be accompanied by Kathleen Scott on piano, Elizabeth Anderson on cello, and Jennifer Elowitch on violin -- four of southern Maine's most talented women, all on stage for one very special evening of great music. A wine and cheese reception with Suzanne and her ensemble will follow the concert downstairs in the Franco Center's Heritage Hall.
