The Bank Theatre Presents "Threshold of Magic -The Death and Life of Tom Thomson"
Tom Thomson is alive and well in Windsor Ontario, where local playwright Barry Brodie has struck gold, capturing the magic of the iconic Canadian painter with his new book, Tom Thomson - On the Threshold of Magic.
Set to tour Canada this summer 2017, Brodie's play "Threshold of Magic: The Death and Life of Tom Thomson" brings Thomson's artistic genius to life in brilliant colour and verse. "Barry Brodie has accomplished something quite astonishing...he has created a compelling meditation on the creative process," says Bob Steele of CBC Afternoon Drive about the show. Angie Littlefeild, author of The Thomsons of Durham also praises Brodie as a fellow Thomson scholar, stating: "Barry's [work] brings together meticulous research, technical wizardry, an impressive set, and great acting...an artist finding himself never gets old, and with this play, we are indeed on the threshold of magic."
The book, Tom Thomson - On the Threshold of Magic contains the play, and Brodie's personal journey from page to stage and back again through inspirational journals wrapped in poetry and sharp wit.
Written and Directed by Barry Brodie and Featuring Jeff Bastien.
