The Art of Me
Upstream Arts is proud to present The Art of Me, a collaboration with Hammer Residences, Lifeworks, and Opportunity Partners, at St. Catherines Universitys Frey Theater. Performances are at 6pm on Wednesday, June 28th, and Thursday, June 29th. A post-show conversation will take place on Thursday, June 29th for the audience, community and artists to discuss the show and current events related to the community.
Our inspiration for this show: In light of recent legislative changes, the disability community is experiencing major transition. In response, Upstream Arts has partnered with three prominent adult disability service providers to explore the unanswered questions of how our world can be more inclusive, and how we're all responsible for finding those answers. What does inclusion look like for the nearly 20% of Americans living with a disability? In truth, probably a bit different for each person. Come enjoy an evening of all-new performances, as artists with disabilities share their voices, talents, and perspectives!

About Opportunity Partners: Established in 1953, Opportunity Partners is a Minnesota nonprofit organization that works alongside people with disabilities to provide job training, employment and residential support for people to live more independently, succeed on the job and lead lives filled with purpose and meaning. About Upstream Arts: Upstream Arts uses the power of the creative arts to activate and amplify the voice and choice of individuals with disabilities. Through theatre, music, dance, visual arts and poetry, our programs nurture social/emotional and communication skills needed in school, work and life. Our performances and community events aim to promote more connected and engaged communities through shared creative experiences between people with and without disabilities. We are honored to collaborate on this Art of Me production with the artists and staff of Hammer Residences, Lifeworks, and Opportunity Partners.
