American Justice Film Series: Deported
DEPORTED is a documentary about those separated from their families and returned to Haiti after completing jail time for often minor offenses. It presents the tragedy of broken lives, forced separation from American children and spouses, and the alienation and stigmatization endured in a country they don't know and don't understand.
The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with members from Black Alliance for Just immigration (BAJI) about the plight and issues not only faced by the deportees, but also their families.
