Vivian Beckley Performing Arts Players
Vivian Beckley's Performing Arts Players is the living legacy of legendary Performance Artist Vivian Beckley. The troupe was formed in 1974 from the surviving members of a workshop that culminated in Beckley's famous piece, Nail Gun/Acid Bath (1974). During her life the ensemble staged many of Beckley's most noteworthy pieces including, Menache-A-Logs, An Evening with Boxes, Tubes, & Body Stockings!, and Our Town (in a Shoe). Since choking on a cow's uterus in Toronto in 2008, the VBPAP's have been ably directed by her assistant and lover John Gilkey.
