Deliver Us From Donald
Much like the rest of the conscious world, we artists are enraged that Donald John Trump is the President of the United States, so of course we are going to make a ruckus about it. This show is the second in a series of our indignation and in this, we want to sow the seeds of artists organizing. Join us for performances and presentations of art across various visual and performance mediums, including composed and improvised music, poetry, and spoken word art.

100% of proceeds will be donated to a local organisation as yet to be determined.

Mariel has been playing piano and writing songs a long time. After studying extensively and playing Classical, Jazz, Brazilian, Balkan, and Experimental styles, they now like to write dreamy, hopeful songs. Mariel plays regularly with their sister, Melody with their duo aptly named:  The Berger Sisters. Mariel curates a monthly performance series, The Moon Show, a salon that promotes underrepresented artists, and co-directs The Moon Choir, a choir which sings justice songs. Mariel believes in collective collaboration and singing together as a way of fighting fascism.

Katie is an award-winning composer and bassoonist who has been active in music performance since 2000 and began composing in 2011. As a musician, she tries to work at the intersection of social justice and concert music, an area that is scarcely inhabited and where more representation of diverse identities is needed. Her current long-term project, deliver us from donald, is a series of multidisciplinary fundraising shows with the goal of raising money and awareness of groups negatively impacted by the trump regime and giving burgeoning performers a space to perform. She holds a bachelors of music degree in composition with a minor in philosophy from Portland State University and will soon hold a master of arts in music composition from the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College. Her music can be found at thequeercomposer.com and her writing can be found on facebook @femmekatie
