Wednesday nights this summer are big band feature nights at Aurora Colony Vineyards sponsored by North Willamette Valley Friends of Music. This elegant winery, located in an outstanding country setting, is just a short drive south from Portland. Performances are on their beautiful outdoor patio. Food and drink will be available for purchase in the tasting room.
Jumptown Big Band is scheduled to perform on July 19th 7pm to 9pm. The band will be playing some well known big band arrangements as well as entertaining jazz charts that feature our fantastic soloists. Portland big band vocalist Claudia Knauer will also be with us to sing some really fun tunes. You will not want to miss hearing these great arrangements written specifically for a full 17-piece jazz ensemble.
Portland, Oregon based Jumptown Big Band is a professional 17 piece swing band consisting of highly talented and experienced musicians from the greater metropolitan area. The band's vision is to keep traditional big band music relevant to people of all ages with a focus on providing high quality performances in terms of both musical technique and entertaining showmanship.
