Bette, Bathhouse and Beyond! limited tickets available at door!
SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 3 SOUTHERN DECADENCE NEW ORLEANS BETTE, BATHHOUSE + BEYOND
After a successful kick off at New York City gay bar EASTERN BLOC, DANIEL NARDICIO brings BETTE BATHHOUSE AND BEYOND to New Orleans for one night only during SOUTHERN DECADENCE / Labor Day weekend. Powerhouse singer and comedienne AMBER MARTIN recreates one of BETTE MIDLER's iconic shows at NYC's infamous gay bathhouse the CONTINENTAL BATHS from 1971. (Martin is also known for spinning John Cameron Mitchell's MATTACHINE at ALLWAYS LOUNGE when it comes to NOLA.)
The audience at CLUB COLETTE (the notorious Swingers club opened to us for one night only) will be required to don only towels (provided by the DWORLD NOLA staff) to recreate the vibe of the famed bathhouse. JOHNNY DYNELL will be playing "Bathhouse Disco" from the era. He has been DJing at gay clubs since the 1980s and is no stranger to this music. He has been a part-time resident of NOLA for several years and is eager to return for this special night. Expect the unexpected, too, at "B,B and B" as surprise musical guests will also drop by.
Please Note: Upstairs at Colette will be men-only for this night, downstairs is mixed for the shows and dancing. The club is clothing optional and though the it does not serve alcohol, guests are allowed to bring their own. The bartenders will serve it throughout the night. (Ah, New Orleans!)
