Mumblin' Drew & Kyle Ollah - Album Release Celebration (7-27)
Mumblin' Drew and Kyle Ollah are a Minnesota-based string band duo who perform early blues, jug band and old-time tunes. Mumblin' leads popular Minneapolis string band, The Dumpy Jug Bumpers, while Ollah has recently been noted for his fiddle and banjo playing on Charlie Parr's recent record, I Ain't Dead Yet. They're headed to the east coast in July 2017 promoting their first full length record together, Every Day In The Week, and will return to MN to celebrate at the Bryant-Lake Bowl Theater.
Mumblin Drew grabs you by the ear and pulls you down a rabbit hole of traditional music. He treks across Americas musical landscape from country-blues guitar or harmonica-driven old-time, to an eerie banjo number or a tin pan alley oddity. Countless hours of playing on street corners around the country has instilled a genuine approach into his live performance. But no matter where he takes you, you won't be guided astray.
Kyle Ollah is a blowed-in-the-glass folk musician, based just north of Duluth, Minn. He is a singer-guitarist in the American folksong and blues tradition, a banjo picker & ballad singer, and dancehall fiddler in the early string band style. Recently Kyle has been performing alongside Charlie Parr and recorded fiddle and banjo for his 2016 Red House Records release, I Ain't Dead Yet. Ollah also released his own solo effort the winter of 2016 titled, Wouldn't Mind Working From Sun to Sun.
