ACTING WORKSHOP
If you are looking to explore acting, perfect your craft, or make a change in your life, then you will want to take advantage of a workshop with Starletta DuPois. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to train with one of Hollywoods finest. Starlettas numerous credits include the 1978 Tony Award nomination in the category Best Featured Actress in The Mighty Gents, written by Richard Wesley. She is one of the very rare performers to have portrayed all three female roles in Lorraine Hansberrys master work, A Raisin in the Sun. She also recently received the Best Actress Award as "Lena Younger" in the Royal Exchange Theaters revival of A Raisin in the Sun, performed in Manchester, England. In her most recent film, Michael Jackson: Searching for Never Land on Life Time Television, she plays "Katherine," Michael Jackson's mother.
Two Workshops are being offered:
Both workshop will include some aspects of various elementary acting techniques including Stella Adler, Uta Hagen, Sanford Meisner, and Lee Strasberg and will focus on warm-up techniques, movement, body perception, breath, awareness and imagination. Participants will also work on personal imagination and body work, such as relaxation.
Workshop #1: Saturday, June 24th - 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. For participants who want to build their confidence to perform in any area of their lives; improve one's public speaking, articulation and memory.
Workshop #2: Tuesday, June 27th - 7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. For "aspiring actors" with at least three (3) months experience in some type of on-stage activity.
