Bayou Vermilion Festival Catfish Rodeo & Cook-Off

Calling all fishing lovers, chefs and Bayou Vermilion enthusiasts...we've got exciting news for you!

The Bayou Vermilion District (BVD) introduces a new addition to the 7th Annual Bayou Vermilion Festival & Boat Pararde. The Catfish Rodeo & Cook-Off will jump start the festival with a celebration of recreational fishing along the river. The Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has released results stating that the Vermilion can be used for secondary contact (fishing). And, there are no eating restrictions on the fish caught in the river. In essence, you can consume the fish that you catch.

We've partnered with Wildlife & Fisheries to stock the river with bass and catfish at multiple locations. If casting is your calling or you just want some time on the bayou, we want to see you on the Vermilion Sunday, May 20th.
