CALIFORNIA GIRL: BEING MICHELLE PFEIFFER comes to the city after a hit performance in Long Beach, Long Island, and this is the FARRAH launch performance. FARRAH is set in December 1979 in Andy Warhol's Factory in New York City after Warhol chose Farrah Fawcett to be his model for a 20/20 TV special on his artwork on Hollywood icons. She came to New York with her new romantic partner Ryan O'Neal just after splitting from her husband "The Six Million Dollar Man" Lee Majors, and in the wake of leaving the television show that catapulted her to stardom, the 1976 TV hit CHARLIE'S ANGELS, in which she played Private Investigator Jill Monroe for one smash season, doing things like high speed chases on skateboards and catching bad guys on screen. The setting is a true one of Warhol asking Farrah, as interpreted by Jen Danby, questions as he takes Polaroids of her for his silk screens he will give to her and her boyfriend. Sweet, smart, loving, fun, and bold 70s "It" girl Farrah talks in this "secret" conversation about her life from her childhood in Texas to this juncture in time after television fame and with aspirations for movie stardom and a new true soulmate love in her life and when everything was looking like a golden horizon for this Icon. Directed by Austin Pendleton. Run time @60 minutes.
CALIFORNIA GIRL: BEING MICHELLE PFEIFFER is set in TV interview style one of a kind chance. Learn all about Golden Globe winner Michelle Pfeiffer, from her stint as Vons checkout girl to movie star in drama and comedy in Jen Danby's imaginative ride as the actress. Pfeiffer is known for her work ethic, privacy, and for being a Blonde Bombshell character actress who by her own admission dances with her demons and likes to laugh in life. She has the "It" that makes actresses legendary and is also sustained by a great sense of tenacity and inner strength and knowing how to protect her inner self and those close to her in the landscape of huge fame with a no nonsense sensibility and a California rebel free spirit in dynamic tension. Hear stories about working on screen with Robert De Niro, Cher, Al Pacino, and more legends, and on sustaining a career from her teens to her 50s and what that means for a woman in today's world. Through true confessions, movie moments, and even karaoke, the fun and adventure of her career and of what makes this American icon so special shines through. Directed by Jen Danby. Run time @90 minutes.
Both shows are written and performed by Jen Danby.
