One of the wine worlds best kept secrets, the Santa Cruz Mountains have long produced some of the New Worlds finest wines. Rhys Vineyards is one of the best examples coming out of the region. With their focus on producing great Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Syrah from rocky soils in mountainous, cool, coastal climates of Northern California, Rhys has emerged as one of California's most exciting wineries. Over the last fifteen years, they have developed seven estate vineyards, six in the Santa Cruz Mountains and one in Anderson Valley. As wine critic Antonio Galloni noted, "With each passing vintage, the wines continue to improve to the point where comparisons to the best estates in California are increasingly less relevant. Rhys is world class. Its as simple as that." Winemaker Jeff Brinkman, who has helped build the winery from the ground up will lead us through the wines alongside a special menu crafted by Chefs Mark Sullivan and Steven Pelas. In addition, guests of the dinner will have the opportunity to purchase wine at retail pricing and be able to "skip the wait" to get on the Rhys mailing list.
