Batacha Quintet
Come on down to O.C.A. after buying your veggies, flowers and dinner at the Occidental Farmers Market and dance to the irresistible rhythms of the Batacha Quintet! This quintet of talented musicians is derived from Sonoma Countys premier Latin band Batacha (African word bata, drum and Cha-Cha, rhythm), which began in 2001 in downtown Graton during the Friday evening Mexico Lindo jams and plays a rich variety of Latin music from jazz to salsa and everything in between at many venues around the Bay Area. www.myspace.com/batachalatinband
The Batacha Quintet consists of leader Joel Bennett on keyboards, Sebastian Link, bass/vocals, Hal Forman, trumpet, Carlitos Madrano, congas/vocals, and Mario Salomon, timbales/vocals. These accomplished musicians provide high energy, very danceable rhythms so bring yourself and a friend and enjoy! Fine Refreshments for sale plus wine/beer. Dance space and cabaret seating. $12 General
