Politics and Prose Presents ART GARFUNKEL
With Paul Simon, Art Garfunkel performed as Simon & Garfunkel from 1963 to 1970. The duo won six Grammy awards, the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, and were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1990. That's the heart of the story, but there's a lot more to it.
In WHAT IS IT ALL BUT LUMINOUS, Garfunkel talks about growing up in Queens in the 1940s and '50s, recalls his early interest in music, his schooldays with Simon, and their first collaborations, while still in junior high. Their first recording hit #40 on the national charts, and Garfunkel was in the public eye from the age of sixteen. He discusses what made his partnership with Simon so special, why it couldnt last, and he talks about his life after the break-up, both the successful solo career and his life as a husband and father.
This event will not include a public signing. All books will be pre-signed.
