Uncross the Stars
Phoenix Film Festival - Uncross the Stars
Troy Harper is beset by grief when he loses his young wife to illness. Suffering from loneliness and confusion, he follows her enigmatic last request, to drive to the Arizona desert and build a porch for his curmudgeonly aunt, Hilda. At first irritated by Hilda and her friends, a group of chatty old ladies in a retirement community, Troy eventually begins to learn that his pain is not unique and opens himself to new experiences. He befriends Bobby Walden, a wise yet strange neighbor of Hildas, a part-time cactus farmer and sagebrush philosopher, who helps guide him on the emotional journey toward accepting his pain, allowing his grief, and finding a place in his heart to move on.
