City Growers Series: Honeybee Basics
How do they decide who become a Queen? Why are male bees so "lazy"? How is honey made anyway?
When City Growers teaches honeybee education workshops we always find that the adults are just as drawn into the lesson and activities as the students. We can relate. These creatures are fascinating and such an integral part of our food system! This time the workshop is just for adults.
Join CG beekeeper and educator Hillary Horowitz for a full introduction to the honeybee. Learn about life inside the hive, the social hierarchies of a colony, taste honey produced by our rooftop farm bees and plant your own flowers to take home and support your neighborhood pollinators.
*This time the workshop is just for adults!
