School is Out, STEM is IN!

The USRA STEMaction Center offers STEM Workshops when schools are not in session. On the morning of Saturday August 5, 2017 your child can join us for SuGO fun!

Where: USRA STEMaction Center, 7178 Columbia Gateway Drive, Columbia, MD 21046

What is SuGO? It combines the fun of LEGO Mindstorm NXT robots with Sumo wrestling. In this workshop youth work in teams to build SuGO Battle Bots using supplied LEGO Mindstorms NXT kits with special SuGO add-ons. After the bots are built it will be time to hit the competition ring for a thrilling and fun tournament. For more details on SuGO see www.sugobot.com

No programming is necessary but LEGO Mindstorms NXT building experience is a plus. For those new to Mindstorms we can provide step by step building instructions.

Ages: 9 to 14 years old
Schedule:
9:30: Check in
9:45 - 11:15: Building Bots
11:15 - 11:30: Snack break
11:30 - 12:15: Finish building bots
12:15 - 12:45: SuGO Tournament
12:45-1:00 Clean up and goodbye

The USRA STEMaction Center delivers exciting science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) activities to K-12 students and builds a local community of support for the programs and participants.
