Ovation Theatre will bring its sumptuous production of the Disney classic Beauty And The Beast to the stage in North County. Featuring many of the most talented and dedicated young actors in San Diego, Ovation Theatres award-winning productions showcase brilliant vocalists, extraordinary ensembles, and an attention to detail reminiscent of the very best that Broadway has to offer. From the music, to the choreography, to the costumes and staging, prepare for an emotional experience you will be talking about for months.
The classic story tells of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed into his former self. But time is running out.
This stage version of the animated classic includes all of the wonderful songs written by Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman, along with new songs by Mr. Menken and Tim Rice. The original Broadway production ran for over thirteen years and was nominated for nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
BEAUTY AND THE BEAST is presented by multi award winning Ovation Theatre (OT). Winner of 24 NYA Awards - including Best Director and Best Ensemble (National Youth Arts) - OT iis recognized as one of North County's best Youth and Community theatre companies. OT presents professional quality productions for audiences in San Diego's North County.
