View Tall Ships Parade from Nantucket Lightship/LV-112
On June 17, a fleet of 43 tall ships from around the world, as well as New England and local historic sailing vessels, will arrive in Boston Harbor. The last time Boston hosted a tall ships parade of this magnitude was the year 2000. Nantucket Lightship/LV-112, berthed on the East Boston waterfront in the heart of Boston Harbor, boasts one of the best vantage points to see many of the worlds most majestic tall ships in this historic Parade of Sail. Photo above is the USCGC Eagle, the historic flaghip of the U.S. Coast Guard, as viewed from the deck of Nantucket/LV-112.
Join us on the historic Nantucket Lightship/LV-112, a National Historic Landmark, National Treasure and former famous U.S. Coast Guard "floating lighthouse," also nicknamed the "Statue of Liberty of the Sea." Ticket price includes a continental breakfast with coffee/juice, buffet lunch, beverages of your choice (soft drinks, water) and lively music. Wine and beer may be purchased. Bring a deck chair or picnic blanket and spread out on LV-112, which will remain at the dock while you enjoy a panoranmic view of the tall ships sailing into the harbor, enhanced by the backdrop of Boston's scenic cityscape. This will be a fundraiser directed to LV-112's restoration. Space on Nantucket/LV-112 is limited to 60 individuals, so reserve early.
