Mandolin & Guitar Workshop - Brazilian Choro with Tim Connell & Mike Burdette, Chehalis WA
Intro to Brazilian Choro for Mandolin & Guitar
A Brazilian cousin of dixieland and ragtime, choro has experienced a revival in the last few decades in Brazil and increased popularity here in America, thanks in particular to the fact that it features the mandolin quite prominently. In this workshop, we learn to play a few classics of the choro repertoire:Não Me Tocques, Naquele Tempo and Receita de Samba. Take-home sheet music provided.
Mike and Tim will also open the workshop to general mandolin and guitar technique and theory questions. Both are masters of their instrument and an invaluable font of information and inspiration to pickers of any genre
The workshop is 2 hours in length and $40 per person. Note: Tim and Mike team-teach most of the time, with a portion of the time separating into mandolin and guitar sections.
