Time Beads
Better a diamond with a flaw than a pebble without. ~Chinese Proverb
This workshop focuses on the creation of beads, danglers, and trinkets that explore certain ideas of significance, tactility, and interaction. Made popular in the 1980s, stratacut is a term used to describe a technique of animation that sequences animation frames throughout a clay "log" shape, which is documented as it is sliced end to end. Opening up the possibilities of this singular technique, participants learn the kneading and blending techniques of stratacut and use polymer clay to form unique shapes in time to be carried with them as they move from that point forward out into the world.
