Zaraawar Mistry's solo work intertwines the ancient legend with a contemporary tragi-comic story of a modern day Parsi family from Mumbai into a riveting drama of family, war and migration. Found as an infant by the side of the road by three Parsi brothers, his own heritage is uncertain. And though he travels around America and even back to India, no place really ever feels like home. Mistry's fictional tale, which traces the often humorous steps and missteps of one immigrant's experience in America, is a universal story of an individual looking for a place in the world. Fri-Sat, Apr 5-6 at 7:30 p.m. The Other Mr. Gandhi Written, performed and directed by Zaraawar Mistry In December 1971 war breaks out between India and Pakistan, and Squadron Leader Rusi Gandhi, a pilot in the Indian Air Force, is sent on a bombing mission into Pakistan. His fate, and that of his wife and children, are the subject of this fictional drama about a Parsi family from Mumbai, and how their lives are interwoven with the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan.
