'Theater on the River' presented by LSPAC and Delmarva Discovery Center
INTRODUCING!! A new summer theater brought to you by the Lower Shore Performing Arts Company and the Delmarva Discovery Center.
August 14-18, 2017 9 AM - 3:30 PM $125 for the week
Please bring a bagged lunch, water, sunscreen, bug spray, & YOUR SENSE OF ADVENTURE!
Theater Instructor: Kathryn Redden M.Ed
Assistant Instructors: Gigi Passenello & Brooke Bennish, Theater Arts majors
Throughout the week the young actors will learn about: - Character Development - Voice and Diction - Stage Movement, Dance and Choreography - Costuming & Stage Makeup - Play Structure & Script Writing - Regional History & Nature, especially the Pocomoke River - Historic regional performing arts venue The James Adams Floating Theater (1914 - 1940) as well as shows and songs of the era.
Guest presenters will include local writers, TV personalities, and actors!
Young actors will showcase their hard work and talents in a final performance -- held on the DDC's replica Steamboat Friday August 18 at 6 PM featuring songs from 'An American Celebration' by local playwright Jetta Jean Reynolds and 'The Adventures of Huck and Tom on the Pocomoke' by Forrest Malloy.
