Cheah Chan Duo presents "Love Rejoices"
Cheah Chan Duo closes its eighth season with "Love Rejoices", an evening of songs by African-American composers in celebration of Juneteenth and African-American Music Appreciation Month. The recital will be held on Friday, June 16, at 7:00 pm at the historic Church of St. Luke in the Fields.
Featuring music by H. Leslie Adams, Margaret Bonds, Charles Brown, Eugene W. Hancock, Betty Jackson King, Undine Smith Moore, Florence B. Price, William Grant Still, Billy Strayhorn, and more, with texts by Claude McKay, Paul Lawrence Dunbar, Langston Hughes, and others.
