WORD! SOUND! POWAH! Festival of Monodrama is the culminating artistic showcase of Artists-In-Residence at The Watah Theatre in mentorship with d'bi.young anitafrika.
*Trigger Warning* Please note that presentations by artists-in-residence are for those 16 and older. The plays feature mature content which may be triggering. There will be a talk-back after each performance as well as a wholistic health practitioner available to provide further support.

The Watah Theatre, proudly announces the third of this years tri-annual festival in the 2016/17 Blk Bx Season, The Word! Sound! Powah! Festival is the culmination works by Artists-in-Residence in the 3rd term at The Watah Theatre and will kick off on June 12, with our Sage Secrets Lecture series!
Session three of the residencies focused on Mentorship and leadership runs from March to June. Artists-in-residence explore the questions What is the relationship between the art that I create and the communities I am accountably responsible to? How do I define the sacred? What does integrity mean to me? The session culminates in the Word! Sound! Powah! Festival of Monodrama named in honour of Jamaicas Rastafarian tradition of truth, rights and justice.
