Phil Cooper
Phil grew up with no money, living in a post-Thatcher mining town in the South Wales valleys. However, by 2017, Pontypridd boasts such luxuries as an outdoor heated swimming pool funded by the EU. In the face of political uncertainty, Phils show explores his own anxieties, his childhood, and the effect of global politics on the future of Wales.
Phil Cooper has been a full-time circuit comedian since 2014, and is a familiar face on the Welsh-language TV channel S4C. This year, he developed an 80-minute solo comedy special for the station, alongside fellow comedians Elis James and Tudur Owen.
