New Masculinities - Man as companion - workshop with Ramiro Romero

A woman's decision to allow a man to accompany her, and a man's decision to accompany a woman's path, are decisions that must be revised profoundly to deconstruct patriarchal and colonised structures of thought that to this day influence our decisions. The Muisqua tradition ask what it means to be a companion. A companion that accompanies without a decalogue and homogenised steps, without illusions that serve linear systems that have nothing to do with our masculine beings, and are far removed from the care and protection that we need to offer as companions of a woman. Thus, the new masculinities speak of how we can rethink and ask ourselves: What makes us men? What is our role? Do we know how to nurture a woman in all senses? Who and what does our thought serve?
