Hiroya Tsukamoto: Solo Guitar
Hiroya Tsukamoto is a one-of-a-kind composer, guitarist and singer/songwriter originally from Kyoto, Japan. He began playing banjo when he was thirteen years old, then the guitar, winning a scholarship to Berklee School of Music in 2000. Now residing in New York with his wife and young child, Hiroya has been performing internationally since his debut album The Other Side of the World was released with his jazz/world fusion band Interoceanico to great acclaim in 2004. He has released two solo albums (Heartland and Places) and won prestigious songwriting competions the world over, appearing at Blue Note in NY with Esperanza Spaulding, Kendrick Scott (The Crusaders), and other musical greats, as well as Japanese National Television.
