McNally, Pearlman, & Alexander
Hailing from extreme corners of the US, McNally, Alexander, and Pearlman are three of the brightest young voices in Scottish music today. Drawing on west-coast Gaelic melodies and bagpipe tunes, their fresh collaboration weaves Gaelic songs and mouth-music together with expressive tunes and percussive Cape Breton dance.
"Poised to become one of the most influential players of Scottish music" (Fiddler Magazine), Katie McNally broke new ground with her 2016 release, The Boston States. Fluent in both the Scottish and Cape Breton fiddle traditions, McNally has appeared across North America at the Newport Folk Festival, the Festival of American Fiddle Tunes, and the Celtic Music Interpretive Centre in Cape Breton.
Elias Alexander is swiftly distinguishing himself in traditional music circles as a piper, singer, composer, and sometime comedian. Co-founder of Afro-Celtic Funk band Soulsha and the leader of Elias Alexander and Bywater Band, he has appeared with greats such as Carlos Nuñez, Alasdair Fraser, and Gillebrìde MacMillan and has performed at top festivals such as Celtic Connections in Glasgow.
Hailed as "a tremendous pianist" by BBC Radio Scotland, Neil Pearlman tours with his own band Alba's Edge, whose debut album Run to Fly was produced by legendary fiddler Aidan O'Rourke. Also in demand as a sideman, Pearlman tours and records with the top Celtic musicians in North American including 2015 Canadian Folk Music Award-winner, Adrianna Ciccone.
